- Acer S5 Ultrabook hands-on
Acer brought it’s A-game to CES, by which we mean the “world’s thinnest Ultrabook.” The 13.3-inch Acer Aspire S5 just launched and we got our mitts all-over its super-svelte magnesium and aluminum exterior. We’ve got some photos in the gallery below, with more to come — people literally elbowing each other in the gut to get shots of this thing.

- Acer’s next-gen, quad-core Iconia Tab introduced at CES 2012 with a 1080p display
Acer’s finishing up its CES 2012 presser with a teaser to end all teasers: there’s a next-generation, quad-core Iconia Tab on the way. The Android-based slate will be powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 and will boast a native 1080p (!) display, leaving us to believe that it’ll be a 10.1-inch panel that you’re staring at. Sadly, the company didn’t give any extra details (no price, no release date), but we’ll be digging for more as the day continues.

- ActiveVideo Network’s CloudTV H5 links up with Siri, brings voice control to set-top boxes
So you ignored the same old design and moderately bumped specs, plunked down your plastic and picked up an iPhone 4S — presumably on the allure of Siri. Well, that bodiless, digital lady helper’s about to work her concierge magic on your cable TV. ActiveVideo Networks plans to demo an implementation of its CloudTV H5 apps platform — including iVOD, amongst others — to bring voice navigation to living rooms via your set-top box. After routing a user’s requests over a cellular network, the company’s servers do the heavy lifting and deliver the intended content and search results all supposedly in the time it would take to use a remote control. We’ll be sure to get some up close and personal time with this voice-based interface at CES this week and let you know how it all pans out.
